Saaree Movie Review: Ram Gopal Varma, who has been limited to political comments and political movies for some time, has taken a slight turn and made the erotic psychological thriller 'Saree'. He provided the source story for this film and also acted as a production partner.
Varma's disciple, Giri Krishna Kamal, directed it. Varma was tempted by the reels of a Malayali girl in a saree and made this 'Saree' movie with her. What is the film? RGV, who is very fond of giving messages through his films, tried to tell people to stay away from social media and realize the harm that it can cause with this film.
Saaree Movie Story:
In the past, Varma's films had a bit of a story and an interesting narrative. Many of the guys who inspired his making style have also become directors. However, for some years, Varma has been putting aside the story and expressing his feelings scene-wise. 'Saari' also belongs to that category.
To be honest... There is no real story to tell in this! Aaradhya (Aaradhya Devi), who loves to wear a saree, goes out in a saree whenever she goes out. At one point, photographer Kittu (Satya Yadu), who sees her in a beautiful saree, falls in love with her.
He introduces himself through social media and says that he will do a photo shoot with her. Her elder brother Raj (Sahil Sambhawal), who does not like Aaradhya making reels and posting them on social media, often warns him. Aaradhya agrees to the photo shoot as per Kittu's wish. However, Raj, who notices the lust in Kittu's eyes, gives him a warning.
Kittu cannot stand Raj standing between him and Aaradhya. He turns psycho and... wants to kill Raj. What did Kittu, who had become crazy for Aaradhya, do? Can Aaradhya curb his eccentricity? How did she face the difficulties she faced due to her desire to wear a beautiful saree? That is the rest of the story.
Saree Movie Analysis:
This two-hour-and-twenty-minute long film has no more than five or six characters. The entire story revolves around two or three characters. Aaradhya Devi is visible from the beginning to the end of the film. Even Satya Yadhu, who shows mad love for her, does not leave us from the beginning to the end of the movie.
People get bored after watching these two characters. In addition, an imaginary song comes every quarter of an hour. It does not make sense. Kittu imagines Aaradhya Devi in various ways in these erotic songs. Aaradhya Devi also surrenders completely with the feeling that Ram Gopal Varma is ready to make a film for her.
While her beauty pageantry is a nuisance on the one hand... on the other hand, Satya Yadhu's solo performance irritates the audience. The film ends with Aaradhya, who is very fond of wearing a saree, burning the sarees due to her bitter experiences. As mentioned, the two murder scenes in the climax are too violent to bear!
There is no need to learn how to be careful with social media by watching movies today. There is no need to make a film for that. Similarly, films about sadistic lovers have already come in droves. So... these two points do not impress the audience in any way. There are no scenes that reinforce these points.
Actors Performance:
Talking about actors... Aaradhya may be new to acting, but posing for the camera is not new. She does not seem embarrassed at all. The audience should be a little ashamed to see her in that way on screen. After watching this movie, Aaradhya is not heroine material. Even the item songs seem okay.
This movie can be considered a good working experience for Satya Yadav. He may get some new opportunities. Sahil Shambhaval plays the heroine's brother, Kalpalatha and Appaji Anjarish plays the heroine's parents. There are no other main characters beyond that. Sabari's photography and Shashipritham's re-recording and editing are good in the movie. But who would like this 'Saari' that is flat without a story or interesting narrative!
The makers of the movie 'Saari' have given the tag line 'Too Much Love Can Be Scary'. It should be changed to 'Too Much Love Can Be Spoil Audience Time'. Because... Varma's too much love for Aaradhya Devi... is killing the audience's time.
